In addition to its core license area in Shan State, APML is also advancing a number of license applications targeting copper-gold potential in the central Sagaing Division of Myanmar.
The Sagaing Division covers the extension of a north-south trending magmatic belt, known to hold world-class copper deposits such as the Monywa mine. This deposit contains a 43-101 mineral resource of over 2 billion tonnes grading 0.35% Cu.
APML began its work on the Sagaing area by conducting a regional satellite study, identifying structural settings here similar to that hosting the Monywa deposit. Following this initial stage, the company carried out a series of field investigations to follow up on discrete targets identified by the satellite imagery work.
These field investigations led to the identification of at least three prospective porphyry targets in the northern Sagaing Division. The company has submitted license applications for all of these target areas, and is actively liaising with the Ministry of Mines and the Sagaing regional government to finalize these projects in order to begin detailed exploration work.
